The Pier One Sydney Harbour in Walsh Bay has unveiled seven new over-water suites with peerless views of Australia’s iconic landmarks.

Perched on-and-over Sydney Harbour, the hotel’s seven new suites have been designed by Bates Smart Architects and include four Harbour View Balcony Suites which have direct access to private, expansive balconies. The largest balcony measures  40sq meters which juts out over the Pier. All the balcony suites have designer day-beds and arm chairs, positioned to maximise the views.

Designed for open-plan living, all suites have an abundance of natural light due to the floor-to-ceiling wrap around windows and glass sliding doors. Ornamental art and designer furnishings have been sourced from around the globe.

The art pieces, some of which have been commissioned specifically, reflect the very history of the wharf, which began life over a century ago as the main wharf for P&O ships, bringing cargo and passengers to Sydney from all over the world.

As well as the seven new suites, The Pier One has also finished renovating 22 new Waterside King and Heritage King rooms which now takes the hotel’s total room count to 189.

“We expect these new suites to sell out well in advance come festival time and New Year’s Eve,” says General Manager Michael Sheridan.

“There is no other suite in the city that resonates ‘Sydney’ as much as the new balcony suites do, and we believe that they will be very popular with visitors who want to really experience Sydney while also enjoying a premier location for business and leisure.”
