Melding two of Sydney’s most majestic and prominent historic buildings is the brand spankin’ new QT Design Hotel. Located within the Gowings department store and State theatre buildings, the iconic facades have been retained as the dignified public face of this extraordinary new hotel. Launching in September 2012, the 200 room QT Sydney is a seriously big statement hotel with a boutique style intimacy, offering a vibrant and at times saucy allure. The interior embraces new technology, distinctive art mediums and cutting edge design. The unique designer spaces throughout celebrate an eclectic mix of quirky artefacts, bespoke furniture, graphics and a daring use of colour and art. Retaining the original timber floors the rooms in the Gowings Building are bright and airy with eccentric touches and embellishments, while the adjacent State Theatre rooms boast exclusively designed carpets and rugs, producing a lush embracing feel, brought together with bowler hat lamps and cheeky accessories.
