Sophisticated entertainment and supper club dining replaces tabletop dancing and scantily clad pole dancers at The Lincoln. “We wanted to create a space that you didn’t need to leave (until the time was right, anyway),” reflects host Martin O’Sullivan. Steeped in classic Art Deco, the immaculate renovation, undertaken by peckvonhartel, dates the venue back to an architectural period Sydney excelled at. All the allure and charm of the period is restored with 1930s glamour dripping from the marble cocktail bar that beckons beyond the entrance gates. To the left of the marble centrepiece a timeless deck lounge reminiscent of the Great Gatsby unfolds onto the Bayswater streetscape, while to the right, a classic supper club teems with furniture from a selection of Australian designers. Patrons can dance the night away in the back factory-style disco, sporting a mosaic bar and the tunes of resident DJ, Ricky Albert. The New York supper club-style menu offers different eating styles throughout the venue, from shared plates in the deck lounge, through to a traditional meal in the supper club or a lavish degustation in the Krug private dining room. Always known as a place of ‘entertainment’, 36 Bayswater Road now boasts a certain refinement and a place you can take your partner to.
