During the month of January, Opera Bar will transform into a harbourside backyard sanctuary. Celebrating the annual Summer at the House festivities, Opera Bar will offer an all-ages Aussie backyard summer experience, with the venue drenched in native plants, picnic dining tables, a layer of greenery, a timeless hills hoist and an Aussie barbeque sure to turn out the classics.

A tailored backyard menu will offer barbeque bites, from classic corn on the cob, to pulled lamb rolls and prawn skewers. Opera Bar will also be serving up James Squire beer, with 150 Lashes being celebrated as the backyard beer of choice. A delicious and premium selection of cocktails will also be available throughout the month. These will be supplemented by a range of selections including traditional homemade lemonade and frosty fruit-inspired slushies.

Keeping the local vibe alive and well, Modular People is curating the entertainment with local and up-and-coming talent performing live every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, as well as Sunday afternoon.

What’s a backyard without games? Pair up to play one of the classics – Connect Four – and relive your childhood with this special life-sized version. As well, animal balloons and animal face painting for kids (between 1pm – 3pm Saturday) plus a changing roster of other games and surprises.
